Across the Lake Swim Westwood Lake 2026

The Westwood Lake Swim is an open-water event held at Westwood Lake in Nanaimo, British Columbia, starting in the morning during summer. This freshwater lake sits above the city, with Mount Benson providing a backdrop and offering calm, quiet water. Participants can select from 1.5 km, 2.5 km, or 5 km distances, suitable for those new to open water or seeking a longer challenge. The course focuses on swimming within Westwood Lake, avoiding surf, currents, or complex point-to-point navigation. It is part of an island swim series, with a reduced entry fee for participating in both island events. Lake Club members receive race-day benefits such as a swim credit, reduced rates on additional entries, complimentary transfers, and expedited package pickup.
