Gaston Lions Club 5k Run/Walk 2026

The Gaston Lions Club 5k Run/Walk begins in Gaston, Indiana, following morning registration at Wes-Del Elementary School and a brief participant meeting. This established community 5K offers both run and walk divisions, affordable entry fees, and an early start, concluding at Gaston Lions Club Park rather than returning to the school. The course starts at South Washington and Vine Streets, proceeds through Gaston, utilizes the Cardinal Greenway, and then follows county roads to the park on West County Road 850 North. The route is largely flat with numerous straightaways. Turns are managed by Lions Club members or police officers. Half-mile markers are present, along with one or two water stops contingent on weather conditions. Participants receive snacks and drinks at the finish. Those registered in advance obtain shirts. Awards are distributed across many male and female age categories. The event also includes door prizes and a free quarter-mile Kids Fun Run, where all children are recognized with an award.
